It was reported earlier this year that filmmaker Anand L Rai would be reuniting with actor Dhanush for a new film that would star Sara Ali Khan as the female lead. The film in question was reported to be not a sequel of Raanjhana and would have a place for another male lead. Now, actor Ajay Devgn has been approached for the role and is likely to be a part of the project, according to a report on entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama.
The report quotes a source as saying, “Ajay Devgn, who is busy with the shooting of Maidaan, heard the script of Aanand L Rai’s next which stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan in the lead. The filmmaker was in search for a perfect third angle for his movie.”
The busy actor already has a string of movies lined up in 2020 which includes Maidaan, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior among various other projects that he is producing. He also announced two days ago that he would be reuniting with filmmaker Rohit Shetty for Golmaal 5. Therefore, “he is trying to figure out his exact availability before signing on the dotted line,” the source said.
Meanwhile, a source close to Colour Yellow Production disclosed, “Colour Yellow Productions is in talks with Ajay Devgn for another project and not Aanand L Rai’s directorial venture.”
It would be interesting to see Devgn and Rai coming together for a film. But one has to wait till the official announcement clarifies which film that would be.
