‘Aksar 2’ is an upcoming Indian thriller film, directed by Anant Mahadevan. The film is the sequel to 2006 film Aksar. It will star Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla and Zareen Khan in lead roles while cricketer S. Sreesanth, Mohit Madaan, Lillete Dubey and Sofia Hayat are also part of the film. Directed by Ananth Mahadevan, the film’s soundtrack is to be composed by Mithoon with lyrics written by Sameer. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the teaser of ‘Aksar 2’ on Twitter.

Actress Zareen Khan began shooting the sequel last year on Eid. Zareen is said to romance three men in this film.
Sreesanth who has earlier been part of a dance reality show on TV and also a Bollywood film is now awaiting the release of his first ever Malayalam movie and is all excited about it. Varun Bajaj, the film’s producer was quoted as saying in a leading daily, “Sreesanth has a small part of a lawyer in the movie and we are yet to finalize Zareen’s love interest in the movie.”
‘Aksar 2’ is the sequel of the 2006 thriller which starred Emraan Hashmi, Udita Goswami and Dino Morea and had many bold scenes. When asked if the sequel will be on the similar lines, Gautam Rode who is third lead in the film replied, “It is not a bold film. It is not an erotic thriller. It is purely character driven…I’ve chosen the film because of that. I am not so comfortable with the erotic genre as of now.”
He added, “We will also be promoting it as a suspense film rather than going on the other side and calling it an erotic thriller. There is nothing like that in the film”.
The sequel will be a fresh story altogether with no similarities to the original film, which was a box office success. The film is set to release in 2017.
