12 years back in 2008, Akshay Kumar had starred in Yash Raj Films feature, Tashan. After 12 years, he is again working with the studio in a film on the 12th-century ruler, Prithviraj Chauhan. The actor has resumed shooting for the film, which got halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Titled as Prithviraj, the film will feature Kumar in the lead titular role, while Miss World 2017, Manushi Chillar will play the female lead opposite him. She is essaying the role of, Sanyogita. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood.

In September last year, the makers had announced the film. Already, they have completed a majority of their portions. Writer-Director, Chandraprakash Dwivedi, is helming the project.

As the film resumed it’s shooting again, Dwivedi in a statement released, said–

“Yes, we have resumed Prithviraj shoot at YRF studios and the entire team is excited to have a great shooting schedule!”

To ensure that the shoot goes smoothly, the makers have constructed a huge set in YRF Studios. The set will incorporate all safety measures, to keep the cast and crew safe.

The Director, Chandraprakash Dwivedi is known for directing and starring in the hit tv series Chanakya (1991). He has also directed the 2003 film, Pinjar, which was an adaptation of Amrita Pritam’s Partition set novel of the same name.

Lead star, Akshay Kumar recently wrapped up his another film, Bell Bottom’s shoot in the UK. He is waiting for the release of his film, Laxmmi Bombwhich is set for a November 9th release on Disney + Hotstar.

Think and say whatever you will, but when it comes to completing a film’s shooting, Akshay is fast as lightning.
