The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is set to reprise as one of the most important celebrations of Indian cinema from the 10th of August to the 22nd, and actor Ali Fazal has finally been confirmed to be sitting on the judge’s panel of the BMV Short Film Competition for Indian Movies 2018. In an official statement to the public, Ali Fazal announced that he was extremely thrilled to have been signed up for the special guest at the IFFM 2018 and that if all went well, this would be his first time being a part of the renowned festival. Fazal also elaborated that he was extremely honoured to be on the jury for the Shorties competition, and that he was looking forward to watching and judging some of the wonderful talents of people across India and around the world.

Mitu Bhowmick Lange, the director of IFFM announced that this year’s theme was ‘Inclusion’, and that as always, the film festival would provide a huge platform for aspiring filmmakers who wanted to showcase their work to move higher up in the world of filmography. The winning entry from every criteria would be shown in movie screenings in Melbourne throughout this year’s Indian Film Festival,  and that the winning filmmakers would be flown across in an inter-country exchange of winners between India and Australia. The BMV Short Film Competition has always produced excellent winners who have now taken their position at working in famous places like YouTube in Los Angeles and Yash Raj Films in India. This year, the contest is ready to be judged by Ali Fazal who is, for now, busy with filming Prassthanam with Sanjay Dutt, and Milan Talkies with Tigmangshu Dhulia.
