The thriller drama also features 50 Shades of Grey famed star Jamie Dornan. This marks Alia’s global debut after ruling in the Bollywood industry by giving super-nova hits, including Gully Boy, Udta Punjab, Highway and Raazi.

Alia Bhatt starrer crime drama Gangubai Kathiawadi hails to be the fourth Hindi film to cross Rs 100 crores post-pandemic times. After Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, Ranveer Singh’s 83 and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, Gangubai Kathiawadi marks the fourth position crossing the 100 crores business.
Adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, the film depicts the journey of Gangubai. Her rise from being a prostitute to becoming the influential political figure of Kamathipura, every aspect of her life has been gracefully exhibited in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic saga.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has big projects pipelined including Brahmastra and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. While the former is directed by Ayan Mukherji featuring Alia opposite her long-term boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, the latter is Karan Johar’s romantic comedy starring Ranveer Singh opposite Alia.
