Netizens appraise the new Korean zombie show ‘All Of Us Are Dead’ on social media. The web series has taken the horror genre to another level.
Netflix’s new Korean show All Of Us Are Dead has garnered positive reviews from the audience. The zombie drama premiered on January 28, and the fans have started binge-watching the mysterious show. The web series centres around an apocalyptical situation with a blend of elements like real societal issues, youth violence, crime and class division.
A High School Nightmare Haunting To The Core

All Of Us Are Dead covers the story of a town infected by a mysterious virus that turns human into zombies. A high school becomes a locus overrun by zombies and the struggle of the teenagers to save their lives. The show features South Korean stars Yoon Chan-young, Park Ji-hoo, Cho Yi-Hyun and Park Solomon in lead roles. Set in and around a Korean high school, All Of Us Are Dead is a classic zombie outbreak chronicle. A schoolgirl gets bitten by a lab rat and then bites her classmate, and therefore the whole school is overrun by minacious zombies. Based on the webtoon, ”Now at Our School” by Joo Dong-Geun, the Netflix show depicts the disastrous situation where the students are stuck inside the school brawling to save their lives from the infected peers. With no food, no cellphones, nothing to stay connected far from the locus premise, the teenagers are forced to fight for survival and get away from turning into zombies.

Having high school kids in the lead roles seems a clever move as each character has a different reaction to the apocalyptical situations ahead, which keeps the viewers engaged. The show might be designed as a covid metaphor, as the zombies are created due to the spread of a virus, which in fact is a masterstroke by the creators as audiences get engaged to the story. At twelve episodes, with most running over an hour-long, this K-drama tends to make you shiver until the end. After the success of Parasite and Squid Games, one more Korean produce has set a benchmark in the thriller genre series, and this one gives us a crazy zombie ride with lots of action, gore, lovable characters and hundreds of zombies.
Back in 2020, Netflix announced that JTBC Studios and Film Monster will produce a horror-thriller series ‘All Of Us Are Dead’ based on a popular Korean webtoon ‘Now At Our School.’ But the production of the show was temporarily suspended due to the re-spreading of the covid-19 pandemic in South Korea. Finally, the show has been released on Netflix on January 28, 2022 and the audience seems to enjoy the horror-thriller to the core.
