Amitabh Bachchan who has earlier played the role of a lawyer in films like ‘Pink’ and ‘Badla’ has been promoted to a judge in his next, titled ‘Barf’. Senior Bachchan will be seen sharing the screen space with Emraan Hashmi for the very first time.
The courtroom drama will be directed by Rumi Jaffrey, who directed Amitabh Bachchan in ‘God Tussi Great Ho’. The film, which is likely to go on floors by mid-2019, also stars Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla.
Saurabh and Annu earlier worked together in ‘Jolly LLB 2’. While Saurabh played the role of a judge in the film, Annu Kapoor was a lawyer against Akshay Kumar.
Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Badla‘ which released yesterday, opened up with huge appreciation and emerged a better opener than ‘Pink’ and ‘102 Not Out’. Interestingly Bachchan was seen in the role of a lawyer in his two last films, viz, ‘Badla’ and ‘Pink’, and in both of them, he was defending Tappsee Pannu.
Emraan Hashmi was last seen in ‘Cheat India’ which turned out to be a box office bomb. He made his acting debut with 2003 released movie ‘Footpath’ and went on to star in several hit movies like ‘Gangster’, ‘Jannat’, ‘Once Upon The Time in Mumbaai’, ‘The Dirty Picture’ and others.
He will be next seen in ‘Murder 4’, ‘Jism 3’ and ‘Mr. X Returns‘ later this year.
