Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Badla’ had a good Monday as it collected ₹3.75 crores. The film observed a drop of 25% from the first-day collection. Till now, the film has minted a total amount of ₹31.80 crores which is a good amount for a crime thriller.
Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office numbers in his tweets, one of them reads, “#Badla is very strong on Day 4… A healthy Mon is a clear indicator that the film is here to stay… Lack of major opposition [till #Kesari] will prove beneficial… Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 8.55 cr, Sun 9.61 cr, Mon 3.75 cr. ‘Badla’ has collected a good amount from metros like Mumbai, Banglore, and Pune. From cities like Jaipur and Surat, it collected well, which is rare for a crime thriller to be a success in these regions.
Badla, as the name suggests, is a revenge story where Naina (Taapsee Pannu) is accused of the murder of Arjun (Tony Luke). Naina’s lawyer, Jimmy (Manav Kaul) hires the senior advocate Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan) to help her get out of the case. The story takes a series of interesting twists and turns when Naina confesses her deeds to Badal.
The direction given by Sujoy Ghosh is full of thrills and genuine twists with great effects. The cinematography by Avik Mukhopadhyay and Editing by Monisha R Baldawa compliments Sujoy’s direction. ‘Badla’ is captivating with a thrilling end.
