Kabir Khan recently announced the final release date of his upcoming sports drama ’83 which is 10 April 2020. Ranveer Singh will be seen in the role of former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev, it will be his first trilingual movie. It is also being said that the actor is getting training for his role from the cricketer himself.

On Tuesday the filmmakers dropped in a short video featuring the real cricket team members who played in 1983 and won the first world cup for India. The film is based on the true story of Kapil Dev and 1983 world cup.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, in his tweet, “Release date finalised: 10 April 2020… #83TheFilm is Ranveer Singh and director Kabir Khan’s first collaboration… Makers will announce the entire cast soon… Presented by Reliance Entertainment… Produced by Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri and Kabir Khan.”

The makers will announce the reel squad in this week starting from Tuesday. They introduced their first real-life player Balwinder Singh Sandhu and the actor who will play him in front of the camera, Punjabi actor Ammy Virk, on 23 January.

Others team members will also be introduced probably within a week.

Ranveer Singh is currently busy basking in the glory of the success of his last released ‘Simmba‘. The film is running successfully in Indian as well as in the global market. Total earning of the film has reached above ₹350 crores worldwide.

He is also busy with the promotions for his next film ‘Gully Boy‘. Based on the real-life street rappers Naezy and Divine, the film will hit theatres on 14 February 2019.
