After doing overwhelming business in China, Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu starrer Andhadhun is all set to release in yet another foreign country. Sriram Raghavan’s thriller is releasing in Japan on 15 November.
Besides doing phenomenal business in China earlier this year, Andhadhun was also released and appreciated in other countries like Korea, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
The film was released in October in 2018 in India. The film opened to rave reviews and went on to become a big hit, raking in over Rs 95.63 crore at the domestic box office.
The film got Ayushmann Khurrana a National Award for Best Actor and also won the National Award for Best Hindi Film this year.
Besides Ayushmann and Tabu, the film also features Radhika Apte, Manav Vij, Anil Dhawan and others.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures, the film has been distributed internationally by Eros International.
On the release of Andhadhun in Japan, Kumar Ahuja, President of Business Development, Eros International Media Ltd, said in a statement, “Eros Now’s legacy of entertaining the masses with the best of Bollywood films is a well-established territory. We are keen on sharing this exciting and highly captivating narrative with the audience of Japan and hoping they will enjoy and embrace the film it just as much as the viewers did from the other parts of the world.”
The story of the film revolves around Ayushmann’s character, who plays an apparent blind pianist, and unwittingly gets involved in the murder of a former actor (played by Anil Dhawan).
Tabu plays Anil Dhawan’s wife – a negative, crazy yet funny character for which she received wide acclaim. Radhika Apte plays Ayushman’s love interest.
Made on a moderate budget of Rs 32 crore, Andhadhun had grossed over Rs 100 crore worldwide prior to its release in China. In China, the film surpassed its Indian lifetime collection within six days. It has grossed Rs 335.38 crore in China, for a worldwide total of ₹456 crore.
