There has been a lot of buzz around Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 since the time of its announcement.  The first part, Bhool Bhulaiyaa came out in 2007 and was a major commercial as well as critical success. The psychological thriller film starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, and Vidya Balan who gave one of her best performances till date.

Since the announcement of the project, there have been speculations that Akshay Kumar will be seen in a cameo in the horror-comedy film. But all rumours have been put to rest and it is not a good news for the fans of Khiladi Kumar. The director of the film Anees Bazmee has clarified that Akshay will not be a part of the film.

“No, Akshay Kumar doesn’t have a cameo; this is a different film with a different cast,” the filmmaker was quoted saying to Mumbai Mirror. However, he emphasized that he feels that nobody can replace Akshay in the franchise.

The film that stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in lead roles is all set to hit the cinema halls on July 31, 2020.

In an earlier interview, Anees had talked about Kartik Aaryan playing the lead in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, he told an entertainment portal, “We’ve finalized Kartik for the lead in the Bhool Bhulaiya sequel. I feel he has tremendous aptitude for comedy. At the same time he can look most vulnerable and almost childlike on screen just like Akshay Kumar.”

Now, it might be a disappointing news for the fans of Akshay but the Hera Pheri actor will be coming to cinema halls this Diwali with his Housefull 4 that has a huge star cast of Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, among others.

Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has hit the floors earlier this month. According to media reports, the first schedule of the movie has been shot in Mumbai with Kartik. On the other hand, Kiara will be joining the team in the second schedule which will kick off early next year.

Director Anees Bazmee is looking forward to the release of his upcoming directorial Pagalpanti which happens to be a multi-starrer comedy. Starring Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Kriti Kharbanda, Ileana D’Cruz, Pulkit Samrat, Urvashi Rautela and Saurabh Shukla in key roles, the movie is slated to hit the theatres on November 22, 2019.
