The Angry Birds and Bad Piggies are back with the second installment of their 2016 film ‘Angry Birds Movie’, it was a huge box office success, earning $352 million against a $73 million budget. The first part became the second highest grossing film based on a video game.
The video game as created in 2009 Rovio Entertainment’s ‘Angry Bird’ which is a video game series where the players use slingshots to fire birds at the pigs across different settings. The game is still a popular mobile app of all times and still going Today., with the latest edition ‘Angry Birds Dream Blast’, which was released the last month. The ‘Angry Birds Movie 2’ will release in August, to mark as the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the video game.
The trailer introduces a new character, Zeta (voiced by Leslie Jones), a bird who lives on the island of ice and snow. Zeta struggles to enjoy life in an environment with limited options.
Eventually, Zeta discovers a new impressive canon with gigantic iceballs. One of her huge iceballs falls near the Birds Island, where the angry birds and the pigs witness the attack, We’re gonna need a bigger slingshot,” King Mudbeard says, referencing Roy Schneider’s famous line from ‘Jaws’.
The ‘Angry Birds Movie 2’ returning cast includes returning Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, and Peter Dinklage joined by Brooklyn Prince, Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Zach Woods, Awkwafina, Lil Rel Howery, Dove Cameron, Beck Bennet and Nick Minaj.
The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 16, 2019.
