Reportedly, Junglee Pictures has decided to not be a part of the Abhinav Bindra biopic starring Anil Kapoor and his son Harshvardhan, who will be portraying the role of the Olympic-winning shooter. Therefore, Anil has come onboard as a co-producer with Prerna Arora’s Kriarj Entertainment.
A source says, “Anil has loved the script and is very excited about the project. Ditto for Harshvardhan. October will see a celebration moment in the Kapoor household when father and son step out together to report on the sets.”
The biopic is scheduled to go on floors by October 2017. Anil will play reel life father to his real life son Harshvardhan Kapoor in the biopic of an ace shooter and the first individual Olympic gold medalist of India, Abhinav Bindra. Anil will play Abhinav’s father AS Bindra, a Chandigarh-based millionaire industrialist who owns a huge agro-food business in Punjab. His father has been a huge support behind his rise to World Championship. After Abhinav returned from the Sydney Olympics, his father invested in a farmhouse where Abhinav could practice shooting in peace.
Earlier, Anil had told the reporters at the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards, “It’s too early to speak about the film. Once everything is finalized, I’ll talk about it. But talks are on. If God wishes, we will do a film together and it could be this one. I am very excited to work with him, but it is too early to speak about it.”
