Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma feels that compared to the earlier times, stardom has become more accessible today. Being not from a filmy background Anushka has created a space for herself in the Bollywood industry by doing a variety of roles with ease.
Actress Anushka Sharma loves to do a new role with every new film and she did not restrict herself as an actress. She always considers herself as an incapable of getting a tag like her co-stars and Bollywood superstars like Shah Rukh, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan.
She says that it is not very common to give somebody a tag like ‘King of Romance’ and ‘The Angry Young Man’, which the audience has given to the legendary actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. It’s a special thing and she does not think that something like this can actually happen now.
Moreover, she feels that this will not happen in today’s time because the meaning of the stardom has changed completely and it is not the same what it is used to be earlier. Today stardom has become more accessible. During Amitabhji and Shah Rukh’s times, the meaning of stardom was completely different and now it all has changed and if still audience gives you a name and then she feels that you would accept it because it’s the love that she is getting from her fans and it’s the kind of acceptance you are getting from the audience.
However, she does not want any such tags because she believes that she is not that much capable of fulfilling the tag. She has appeared with the big names on the silver screen. She has been able to make an impact with her acting in the films like ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, ‘PK’, ‘Dil Dhadakna Do’, and ‘Sultan’. She able to do all such movies because she was not at all anxious about working with them and nor she was awestruck by them.
Moreover, Anushka says that there a lot of feelings which actors don’t speak on-screen, but sometimes it easily denoted with the facial expression. As a producer, she has backed offbeat movie like ‘NH10’ and ‘Phillauri’ and she feels that her satisfaction lies in the constantly evolving and indulging in work of any relevance. Moreover, she believes that anyone can get any kind of diversity in their career by doing a different kind of movies and this can only happen when you do work with different directors every time.
She considers herself very lucky because she has worked with the big directors, which every actor would have dreamt of. She has worked with the directors like Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Karan Johar and Vishal Bhardwaj she believes that the director is the only one who can add diversity to an actor’s filmography.
