Reportedly, Shraddha Kapoor who is playing the role of Mumbai’s most-wanted gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar in the film, is not just wife of Ankur Bhatia (Ibrahim Parkar) but also a mother of 4 children.

Talking about the film and Shraddha, director Apoorva Lakhia told, “It was easier to get her to play a 17-year-old but I also wanted to see if Shraddha was up for the challenge of ageing as the film spans 40 years. After the narration, she told me she needed two days to think about my offer.”

Apoorva informed that Shraddha’s real-life closeness to Aunt Tejaswini Kolhapure’s daughter Vedika made it easy for her to play a mother on-screen.“There was a scene which was extended when we saw Shraddha cradle her screen kids to stop the crying. She is really patient and mature for her age. I remember her reading pregnancy books and paying attention to details like the way expectant mothers hold their backs.”

He further added, “I ensured that the kids arrived two-three hours before shooting commenced and hung out together with Shraddha and Ankur Bhatia, playing and talking to each other. We also instructed the real parents to not be around during the shoot.”

The makers had to deal with that how much weight would Shraddha had to gain to show 4 decades, Apoorva explained, “Haseena gets married at 17, which is followed by four kids. She turns a corner at 45. We shot the film in chronological order to capture the weight gain in the correct sequence.”

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, ‘Haseena Parkar,’ is being presented by Swiss Entertainment and has been produced by Nahid Khan. It is slated to release on August 18.
