Shraddha Kapoor‘s upcoming movie “Haseena Parkar” has released the new song today. The movie which is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Nahid Khan. The film features Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, her real life brother Siddhanth Kapoor will be seen portraying the role of Dawood Ibrahim, and Ankur Bhatia will be playing the role of Haseena’s husband. The biopic will be based on the life of Haseena.
Director Apoorva Lakhia says that Haseena Parkar’s story is more interesting rather than her brother, Dawood Ibrahim. Earlier Apoorva had been approached to make a film on Dawood Ibrahim and related to the same he met Dawood’s family and there he had a conversation with his sister Haseena Parkar and she explained that how they used to live in a 12-ft x 12-ft chawl. Moreover, she reveals her relationship with her brother Dawood. Apoorva found Haseena’s story more interesting rather this her brother so he asked her if he can make a movie on her life rather than on her brother.
Earlier she said NO, but after a week or 10 days she finally agreed and this conversation happened three and half year ago. Apoorva struggled to find a studio to make a biopic but once the producer and his male lead Shraddha came on board, he finished the movie in just 42 days.
After the release of the first poster, many people pointed that Shraddha does not resemble like Haseena, but he was confident that on her because he has seen her in the movie Haider and he very well knows that she can be her Haseena. The makers did three months rehearsal with the actress. They even hired an acting coach, Samar Singh, he has seen the script and he goes into the back stories of the character and develops them with the actor.
Both the male actor Siddhanth Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia almost spent a month and a half with him and actress Shraddha Kapoor did a two-week extra rehearsal with him. Moreover, Apoorva said that the real life’s sibling Siddhanth and Shraddha’s chemistry have really helped the film. Apoorva says being a brother Siddhanth is very protective towards his sister Shraddha. While Shraddha also looks up to him that comes across on screen.
Talking about the movie ‘Haseena Parkar’, the movie will revolve around the life of Haseena as she was living a normal family life before her husband was gunned down by men from Arun Gawli’s gang. This incident prompted her to step up and be a part of the notorious ‘D-Company’ and eventually become the Godmother of Nagpada. The movie is based on a true story on the life and times of the sister of India’s Most Wanted Man Dawood Ibrahim. The film’s tagline is, “80 cases registered yet she appeared in the court only once”, and this power permeates the teaser too.
