Apple has won the race for Martin Scorsese’s next project ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’. The film will star Leonardo Dicaprio and Robert De Niro. Multiple sources from the US confirmed this news on Wednesday.
Apple is on a roll after previously acquiring another big film ‘The Greyhound’ starring Tom Hanks. Defeating giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime, the tech giant has given out a signal that it means serious business.
Reports from both the Wall Street Journal and Deadline have stated that the film will be labeled as an Apple original film. The distribution of the film being a job of ViacomCBS Inc’s Paramount Pictures.
The film is based on David Grann’s Non fiction book of the same name. The story is about the FBI’s investigation into the killings of Native American Osages during the 1920s.
Scorsese last collaborated with De Niro in his Netlfix release last year ‘The Irishman’. The film received 10 academy awards nominations and appeared in several critics list as one of the best films of the year. The film marked De niro and Scorsese’s ninth collaboration.
While, Leonardo Dicaprio appeared in ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ directed by Quentin Tarantino last year. Dicaprio and Scorsese have collaborated on films like ‘The Aviator’, ‘The Departed’, ‘Shutter Island’ and ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’.
