Norwegian author and painter Ari Behn, who had accused actor Kevin Spacey of groping him, committed suicide on 25 December, according to Fox News.

Behn died at his home in Lommedalen on christmas eve. His manager, Geir Hakonsund wrote an email to news agency AFP: “It is with great sadness in our hearts that I on behalf of the very closest relatives of Ari Behn must announce that he took his own life today.”

In 2017, Behn was one of the people to come out to accuse Spacey of sexual assault. He had said that the actor had groped him in 2007 at a Nobel Peace Prize concert. 

The Danish author was married to Princess Martha Louise of Norway from 2002 to 2017 and had three daughters. 

The official statement by The Royal House of Norway said, “Ari was an important part of our family for many years, and we carry warm and good memories of him with us,” as reported by Fox.

Behn had written three novels, two collections of short stories and a book about his wedding. His 1999 anthology collection Trist som faen (Sad as hell) sold nearly 100,000 copies and received positive receives. His works have been translated in various languages.
