Bollywood’s two Jolly’s Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi are starring in a same film together. The news of both the actors being in a same film comes as Arshad boards the film Bachchan Pandey. Farhad Samji is directing the action-comedy in which Akki is playing the lead role.
In the film Akki is starring as a gangster who aspires to become an actor. While the female lead, Kriti Sanon is playing a journalist aspiring to become a director. Arshad who is the latest entrant to the film is going to portray Akki’s friend in the film.
This reminds us a little of the Munnabhai series in which Arshad played a friend(circuit) to Sanjay Dutt’s gangster, Munnabhai. Though Bachchan Pandey is going to be an entirely different film.
A source close to the film talked about Arshad’s casting in the film and said –
“The makers were looking for someone who could match Akshay’s comic timing, and they narrowed down on Arshad who, over the years, has aced this space. It is a first time pairing for the actors”.
In January 2021 Bachchan Pandey will start its schedule in Jaisalmer. The makers are aiming to complete the entire 60 day schedule of the film as fast as they can.
On the other hand, Arshad is also going to feature in Durgamati, starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, which Akshay Kumar is producing under his Cape Of Good Hope Films banner.
Meanwhile, a source also added that another A-list actress might join the cast of Bachchan Pandey soon, whose team is currently planning to shoot at Gadisar Lake and Jaisalkot.
Farhad Samji has also written the film with Nischay Kuttanda. Sajid Nadiadwala is producing the film under Nadiadwala Grandson’s Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
