An Indian filmmaker Ashwini Iyer Tiwari says that she wants to explore the new ideas after the movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. The popularity of the movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ has surprised the director but she says that she does not want the baggage of its success to overshadow her future work.
Earlier, her 2016 movie with a title ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ has also received a great response from the audience. According to the recent reports, director Ashwiny has already started working on her next project which will be based on the sports Kabaddi. However, she did not reveal much about her upcoming movie. She remains tight-lipped about her upcoming project. The name of the movie has been decided yet and she is very much certain about not approaching it with any kind of baggage.
About this, she says that she has never done that. When her 2016 movie ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ happened she says that there were many people who thought that she would definitely make a women-oriented movie again. But at that time, she surprised everyone because she made a movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. In the same way, now she is trying really hard to explore and challenge herself with the different kind of ideas so that the audience will enjoy more while watching the movie.
However, she feels that it is an easy thing to tell or to predict that how the audience will respond to a particular story. She says that as a director she can gauge in the very first week of the shoot that where her movie will be going. She says that she spending most of her time in finding a good story. She says in the very first week of the film’s shooting where the rushes come in and the one can easily see on the edit table and that at a time you can easily know that where do you stand and where will your movie will lead in the future.
In the very first week, it becomes very clear. She even says that for her last released movie titled ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ she got the sweetest praise and those came from the people who compared it with Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Sai Paranjype brand of cinema.
Her last movie actor Ayushmann Khurrana has described as the Indian Woodey Allen post the release. But, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari says that the audience did talk about getting the feel of Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee and they did with a slice-of-life comic tone. She even said that there was someone who even wrote that they have a new Sai Paranjpye born. She feels that all those comments were extremely sweet and overwhelming. However, the makers of the movie were not expecting that much love from the audience.
Her movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ was written by Nitesh Tiwari and the movie featured Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Kriti Sanon in the lead. Now, actor Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon are gearing up for its world television premiere on Zee Cinema on November 19.
