Athiya Shetty and Arjun Kapoor have been making headlines due to the rumors about dating each other. Athiya feels news about their affair is little more than fabrication. “We’ve known each other for a long time. Anshula and I have been friends. That’s how I got to know him over time. I don’t think the media is aware of it, so they have blown things out of proportion,” she says.
Shetty says the gossip hasn’t affected the bond she shares with Kapoor. “To get affected means to leave the door open for the relationship to sour. We know the truth. This discussion has never been part of dinner table conversation. My parents are more than aware of my personal and professional priorities,” says Shetty.
About the rumors, she had earlier said, “This rumor has become very boring now. I don’t take it too seriously. I know Arjun very well. I have known him before the movie’s shooting even started. His sister Anshula Kapoor and I are very close friends. Our equation might be new for you but it isn’t for us. I have known Arjun since the beginning itself, hence the rumors became a very big thing.”
Talking about the movie ‘Mubarakan‘ she says, “I feel blessed to be here. It is my second film. I am proud of myself. Had a fab journey and I learnt so much watching and observing. Anees sir, Ileana, Arjun, it was amazing working with them.”
