Avengers: Infinity War, which was released on the 27th of April, has broken many records in box offices all over the world. In India itself, the movie has reached the milestone of becoming the highest grossing Hollywood film ever. After merely two weeks in the cinema halls, Avengers: Infinity War has become the first Hollywood movie ever to breach the 200 Crore INR mark at the Indian box office.
Prior to the release of the latest Avengers installment, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic hit Padmaavat, released in the January of 2018, had grossed 302.15 Crore INR at the domestic box office. After successfully dethroning Disney’s previous film The Jungle Book, which had earned 180 Crore INR, as the highest grossing Hollywood film in India, Avengers: Infinity War stands at its peak after acquiring 200.39 Crore INR at the Indian box office. During its opening week, the superhero blockbuster had earned 257.6 Million USD in America, transferring the title of the highest-grossing opening weekend of all time to Marvel. Marvel’s latest creation has now become the fastest film to reach the 1 Billion USD box office mark, and, after grossing 1.5 Billion USD worldwide, has been successfully crowned the biggest Superhero film ever.
Back to domestic achievements, Avengers: Infinity War entered its third week in the Indian theatres, and according to the cinema owners, the number of footfalls in their theatres have not shown any signs of decreasing as of yet. Analysts have announced that if Avengers: Infinity War continues to see the steady footfall it is currently seeing, it is expected to surpass the 1.6 Billion USD mark for Marvel within a very short time.
