Actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Keerthy Suresh and Vicky Kaushal bagged the top honours at the 66th National Film Awards held on 23 December in Delhi. Khurrana won the award in the Best Actor category for his film Andhadhun. Kaushal also won in the same category for his film Uri: The Surgical Strike. Suresh won in the Best Actress category for her film Mahanati which also won the Best Telugu Film Award.
The National Award for Best Feature Film was given to Gujarati film Hellaro whereas Andhadhun won the award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. Veteran actor Surkeha Sikri won the Best Supporting Actress Award for Badhaai Ho while Swanand Kirkire won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his Marathi film Chumbak.

Amitabh Bachchan was honoured with the Dada Saheb Phalke award but he could not attend the ceremony as he was suffering from fever and was not allowed to travel. The awards were presented by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
