Ayushmann Khurrana, who is currently riding high on the success of his last film Bala, is likely to star in Hindi remake of a Tamil film titled Ratsasan, according to a report in The Indian Express. A production house has reportedly bought the remake rights of the film for a huge amount of money.

The report quoted a source as saying,“If everything goes well, Ayushmann Khurrana will star in the remake, but an official announcement will be made next year.” The same report also suggested that Khurrana is yet to sign the film.

Directed by Ram Kumar, Ratsasan is a psychological thriller film that came out in 2018. It revolves around a man who wants to be a filmmaker but becomes a police officer after his father dies. As a cop, he chases a serial killer who murders school girls. The film stars actors Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul in the lead roles, while Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, and Ramdoss appear in supporting roles.

Incidentally, a number of Khurrana’s films are also being remade in the south industry. Sriram Raghavan directorial Andhadhun, which bagged three national awards, is reported to be remade in Tamil by actor-filmmaker Thiagarajan. Badhaai Ho, which won two national awards, is set to be remade in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam by Boney Kapoor.
