Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has finally set its foot on the theatres of China, and continues climbs up the box office charts at an immense speed. The movie which aired in over 18000 theatres across the country amassed a gross total of 2.41 million US dollars on its opening day alone. This Indian blockbuster film debuted at the number 3 position in the Chinese box office on its first day, third to only the native Chinese films Us and Them and A or B.

Baahubali: The Beginning had acquired over 123 million dollars in China when it was released last year. Its sequel is now well on its way to faring even better. Baahubali 2’s opening has officially broken the records for the Salman Khan starring film Bajrangi Bhaijaan in the country. Within two days of its release, Baahubali 2 has earned a total of 5.54 million USB in China.

However, its gross two-day earnings have not succeeded to overthrow other popular Indian films like Secret Superstar by Aamir Khan which had grossed a total of 18 million USD, and Hindi Medium by Irrfan Khan which gained over 9.71 million USD within the first two days of its release.

Indian film critic Taran Adarsh posted a tweet on his Twitter account analyzing the opening of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in China. From his analysis, it is clear that after acquiring 16.24 crore on its opening day, Baahubali 2 has had a total of 51,494 shows, which brought in an audience of 484,276 people in theatres all over China. After its successful debuts in Japan, China and other countries in the West, S. S. Rajamouli’s megahit film has officially acquired a worldwide revenue of 270 million USD at the box office.
