Actress Bhumi Pednekar has been making unconventional choices in her career ever since her debut role and has also been vocal about social issues.

She recently shared a small video on her Instagram profile, warning people about the global warming and the pollution.

The video can be seen as a response from her on the current poor air quality of Delhi which has deteriorated post Diwali. The government has declared an health emergency in the NCR region.

On the acting front, Bhumi will be next seen in the comedy drama ‘Bala’ directed by Amar Kaushik which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam in the lead role.

The film follows the story of a man who is suffering from premature baldness and the problems he faces in the society because of it.

Bhumi plays the role of a dark complexion girl in the film for which she was criticized on social media.

Talking about the reason to take up the role, she said: “There is an obsession for fair skin. As an actor, I feel I have enough power that people will listen to us. It’s the most far reaching visual medium to people in our country and I want to do my best to fight prejudice through this medium.”

‘Bala’ is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock films and is slated to release on 7 November.

Bhumi was recently seen playing an old age sharpshooter in the sports biographical film ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, directed by Tushar Hiranandani.

The film and her performance met with positive reviews and has been performing well at the box-office.
