Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala is going strong at the box office. After seeing a good second weekend, the film collected Rs 2.25 crore on Monday. The number is much lower as compared to its Sunday collection but that is due to holiday.

The film opened to decent numbers on second Friday and collected Rs Rs 3.76 crore. But it saw a remarkable jump in the business on next two days. The film collected Rs 6.73 crore and Rs 8.01 crore on second Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The film also registered good numbers throughout the first week ending it with a total collection of Rs 72.24 crore at the domestic box office.

The total collection of 11 days of the film at the domestic box office is Rs 92.99 crore. The film is likely to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in this week.

The film is setting new records for Ayushmann. It has already become the biggest opening film of Ayushmann’s career beating Dream Girl by a slight margin. It has also left behind Dream Girl in bringing highest numbers on first Monday.

Film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his social media account to share the business figures of Bala. He wrote, “#Bala inches closer to the century mark… [Week 2] Fri 3.76 cr, Sat 6.73 cr, Sun 8.01 cr, Mon 2.25 cr. Total: ₹ 92.99 cr. #India biz.”

Bala that was released on 8 November has also become Ayushmann Khurrana’s second biggest opening weekend film with a collection of Rs 43.95 crore. It is a little behind Dream Girl which collected Rs 44.57 crore on its first weekend.

Talking about the overwhelming response received by the film, Ayushmann said, “With Bala, we are sending out some really strong and powerful social messages in the most entertaining manner possible and I’m delighted that the film has instantly connected with audiences on day one.”

“I only hope that the film entertains the whole of India because only this way we will be able to communicate everything that Bala is trying to say and spark a thought shift,” added the actor.

He calls the script of Bala one of “my most precious scripts to date”, adding: “I’m really happy with the love and adulation that our film is getting”.

Bala is a satirical comedy that deals with the subject of premature balding and the societal pressure that comes with it. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. Javed Jaffrey, Seema Pahwa and Saurabh Shukla appear in supporting roles.

The film is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
