After witnessing a highly impressive collection of Rs 72.24 crore in its first week, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala has shown a strong trending in its second week as well. The film has collected Rs 98.80 crore at the domestic box office in 14 days. It will very soon make its entry in the coveted Rs 100 crore club.

The film registered good numbers in its second weekend but started seeing a consistent fall in its second week. The film saw a collection of Rs 8.01 crore on its second Sunday but it drastically fell to Rs 2.25 crore on Monday. There was not a big drop in numbers next day and it collected Rs 2.05 crore on Tuesday. The film again saw a fall and collected Rs 1.96 crore and Rs 1.80 crore on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

The film is setting new records for Ayushmann. It has already become the biggest opening film of Ayushmann’s career beating Dream Girl by a slight margin. It has also left behind Dream Girl in bringing highest numbers on first Monday.

Film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to his social media account to share the business figures of Bala. He wrote, “Bala shows strong trending in Week 2… Will cross ₹ 100 cr today [third Fri]… [Week 2] Fri 3.76 cr, Sat 6.73 cr, Sun 8.01 cr, Mon 2.25 cr, Tue 2.05 cr, Wed 1.96 cr, Thu 1.80 cr. Total: ₹ 98.80 cr. #India biz.”

Bala that was released on 8 November has also become Ayushmann Khurrana’s second biggest opening weekend film with a collection of Rs 43.95 crore. It is a little behind Dream Girl which collected Rs 44.57 crore on its first weekend.

Talking about the overwhelming response received by the film, Ayushmann said, “With Bala, we are sending out some really strong and powerful social messages in the most entertaining manner possible and I’m delighted that the film has instantly connected with audiences on day one.”

He called the script of Bala one of “my most precious scripts to date”, adding: “I’m really happy with the love and adulation that our film is getting”.

Bala is a satirical comedy that deals with the subject of premature balding and the societal pressure that comes with it. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. Javed Jaffrey, Seema Pahwa and Saurabh Shukla appear in supporting roles.

The film is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
