Ayushmann Khurrana has steadily became one of the most reliable actors in Bollywood. He’s popular for offbeat comedies, and slice of life dramas that people find immensely relatable. His previous movie, Dream Girl, released on September 13 became a superhit. And now, Bala, a story about a man with hair loss problems, had started it’s business with a promising 10.15 crore collection at the box office. The movie also stars, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam, and was directed by Amar Kaushik. Bala has released on 3000 screens in India, and on 500 screens internationally.

Ayushmann’s career has been on a very interesting trajectory because after the release of Badhai Ho and Andhadhun last year, he began to materialize as the most profitable actor in Bollywood. Ayushmann doesn’t work in big budget productions, but selects scripts which are unique in their perspective about India. He also completes his projects quickly, so that there’s never a period of vacuum.

Article 15, which was also released this year, in June, bravely tried to explore the issue of caste divide in rural India and Ayushmann was also praised for his performance as a police officer in pursuit of a missing girl. He’s next going to appear in Gulabo Sitabo, directed by Shoojit Sircar and co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, and written by Juhi Chaturvedi.
