Barack Obama coming On Spotify; to be first guest on Michelle Obama’s podcast, releasing on July 29

Podcasts are the new age source of tapping into great minds. They’re in vogue because, they are accessible from anywhere. You just need to have an internet connection and an app like Spotify, and boom you are now listening a podcast.

Spotify, which has become the hub of podcasts is soon getting a new podcast on its platform. One of the most admired and brilliant personality in the world, former first lady of US, Michelle Obama is bringing it. This’ll be a first in the collaboration between Spotify and Higher Ground. Michelle and Barack Obama have founded, Higher Ground as their production company.

This news was announced on Friday, with Spotify and Higher Ground confirming it. The podcast titled as ‘The Michelle Obama Podcast’ will come out on Wednesday.

You must be wondering though, what will she bring new ? Well, for first she’s bringing her husband and former US President, Barack Obama as its first guest. And what will they talk about in the first episode ? Together, both of them will have conversations about Community, love in relationships and their life after eight years living in the White House.

In the intro of the first episode, Michelle says :

“For eight years my life was full of crazy schedules, juggling big initiatives, speeches, state dinners, Not to mention trying to raise two daughters and keeping my head above water. But once Barack’s second term ended, the presidency was over and finally had some time to breathe.”

To make her podcast refreshing and engaging, Michelle will be discussing topics such as Women’s health, marriage and the benefits of mentorship. Further, in the list of guests are people like talk show host, Conan O’Brien, Valerie Jarrett and former senior advisor to Barack Obama.

About the podcast, she said :

I don’t want this podcast to be prescriptive… or present anyone’s ideas as truth, I just want it to feel like we’re sitting together on a park bench or in the booth of a restaurant with the jukebox playing. And most importantly, I hope this podcast sparks ideas and topics that all you listeners can open up within your own circles.”

While, in May Netflix had released her documentary ‘Becoming’. It’ll be interesting to see how Michelle makes her guests open up and share their thoughts with the listening audience.
