Read : Bareilly Ki Barfi movie review!

Rajkummar RaoAyushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon‘s much-awaited movie ““Bareilly Ki Barfi” finally released today. The movie is directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and written by Nitesh Tiwari.

The movie which is being shot in Bareilly, a small town in Uttar Pradesh, is introduced by the Javed Akhtar’s voice. He narrates the story which will take you to the Bitti Mishra’s family. In the movie, Kriti Sanon will be seen playing the character of Bitti Mishra, a bohemian Bareilly girl and she is deeply in love with Pritam Vidrohi, which is an author ( the character played by Rajkummar Rao). In the movie, Bitti admires Pritam’s progressive way of thinking and she wishes to meet an author Pritam in which he takes the help of the local printing press owner, Chirag Dubey (the character played by Ayushmann Khurrana) on her journey of love.

Bitti’s parent has raised their daughter as a son. Bitti was never be treated like a small town girl by her family she smokes, do break dances, and she spreads out her leg while driving a bike. Bitti is looking for a prospective man to get married to. Bitti got a book from a book stall titled “Bareilly Ki Barfi” the book that she grabs is a ghost, which is written by Chirag Dubey (Ayushmann Khurrana). Chirag wrote a book in the memory of his unrequited love Babli and Bitti finds the character of Babli a similar character of herself and then he tries to approaches the publisher of the book just to get in touch with the author. The publisher Khurrana gets smitten by Bitti (Kriti Sanon) as she sees herself in the character of Babli.

The problem arises when the author of the book, which is that of Pritam (Rajkummar Rao), a friend of Chirag. Chirag had to convince to be the author as to hide his love for Babli, as she is already happily married in the book. While Chirag will serve as the postman of Bitti as he delivers her the letter to the author and he then realises that Bitti has actually fallen for the author, not for the publisher.

Then, Chirag tries to convince Pritan to do him a favour once again and he sets up his meeting up with Bitti. But he trains Pritam in such a way that he has to portray himself as an embodiment of everything that Bitti hates.

In the movie, Kriti’s hard work can be easily seen and she has given a great performance in the movie she gets everything right from the accent to the styling. While Ayushmann Khurrana is endearing the unrequited lover his expression is so real that one can clearly project the butterflies in his stomach but Bitti is not able to see his boundless love for her. Rajkummar Rao has nails both his acts from the reserved saree seller to the brash gali ka gunda. He overplayed his arrogant avatar in order to draw contrast from his restrained avatar and in that he excels organically.

Despite the lead Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa has done a brilliant acting and their comic chemistry is superb. The duo has some best scenes in the film that is sure to leave everyone splits. Pankaj Tripathi was last seen in the dark character in the movie titled “Gurgaon” but in this movie, he still manages to make everyone laugh because of the lines that Nitesh Tiwari writes for him.

The rest of the story will revolve around a love triangle. The edges are sharpened by Nitesh Tiwari’s crisp writing and his wife Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s tight direction. Also, the highlight of the film is the lovely track “Sweety Tera Drama”, which is both irresistible and situational. The war between both the actors Ayushmann and Rajkummar. is a sharp edged as the writing.

Overall, the movie Bareilly Ki Barfi is the character driven and all the characters in the movie have played the pivotal role. Ayushmann’s endearing expressions, Kriti’s livewire presence, and Rajkummar’s unpredictable dialogue delivery provide the perfect ingredients for a sweet rom com that has its share of masala.
