‘Uri: The Surgical Strike‘ will not be the only patriotic film to be released on 11th January 2019. Another India-Pakistan war based film ‘Battalion 609′ is also going to be released on the same date. The upcoming patriotic/nationalistic Hindi film is written and directed by Brijesh Batuknath Tripathi and produced by Naraindas Lalwani of N.J Lalwani Films.
The film revolves around a cricket match between the Indian Army and the Pakistan army gone wrong. It also unfolds the story of brave soldiers of Battalion 609, fighting Taliban. Like ‘Raazi’ this film also talks about the sensitive relationship between India and Pakistan but this time humour is being used as a tool. The film explores several issues faces by both countries.
The film features, small screen handsome hunk Shoaib Ibrahim who makes his Bollywood debut with this film. Vishwas Kini, Sparsh Sharma, Jashan Kohli, and Kiaan will also be seen in pivotal roles.
The film conveys a message not in a preachy but in a humorous way and talks about cricket, the only passion shared by both countries.
The trailer of the film was launched on 24th of this month at JW Marriot, Juhu in the presence of the cast and crew of the film. The team of the film shared their experience of working on the film and why the subject of the film will touch the heart of every Indian. They also talked about the clash of the film with ‘Uri – The Surgical Strike’.
Battalion 609 is set to release worldwide on January 11, 2019. The film is directed by Brijesh Batuknath Tripathi and produced by Narindas Lalwani of N.J. Lalwani Films.
