A serious risk is there to the health of Bengali actor, Soumitra Chatterjee. He is not in the best of shapes and his health continues to be a matter of concern. Officials said this on Thursday.

The actor remained drowsy, mildly agitated, and confused according to the doctors treating him. Dr. Arindam Kar, who is the leading doctor in a team of doctors overseeing him, said :

“He is still having neurological issues despite being provided with the treatment. We are again repeating some of the tests.”

Further, he said,

“His hemoglobin level dropped so blood transfusion was given and in the morning there were issues of oxygenation and blood pressure, which were also corrected.”

On October 6, the actor had tested positive for COVID-19. Though he became a little stable recently after testing negative for the virus last week, his neurological condition is still not looking good.

Dr. Kar said that his oxygen saturation levels are fine but while talking about his health,  the doctor said — “The biggest challenge is to keep him out of any further complications because of his comorbidities, and especially because he is recovering from COVID-19. His low consciousness-level is also a concern.”

The legendary actor has worked with some of the finest filmmakers ever to come out of India. This list includes Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha and Tarun Mazumdar.
