Remakes have often been an easy choice for many filmmakers and over the past few years, there have been many remakes of regional movies in Bollywood. Being a part of commercial business, remakes become a great choice for many production companies to invest their money in and for makers, the phase of story writing also gets skipped as many of the stories are just copy-pasted.

Although, there are a few filmmakers who were really inspired by other films and they adopted the concept and remade these films altogether with cinematic liberty. These remakes can be named under the list of best remakes ever made in Bollywood. And today we will be discussing these epic adaptations.

So, check out the list:

Shaurya (2008)

A still from Shaurya

Inspired by the 1992 Hollywood flick ‘A Few Good Men’ director Samar Khan penned down the story of Shaurya. The film’s storyline keeps you hooked till the end and it follows the story of a lawyer in the Indian army who has to defend a soldier who’s accused of killing an authoritative major. The story gives you an idea that it is not exactly the same as A Few Good Men, creating a whole new set up across the Indian army would’ve been a difficult task and the makers seem to have done a great job. And to match Jack Nicholson’s on-screen power we had Kay Kay Menon on the screen who was spectacular. Undoubtedly, the film Shaurya is one of the finest remakes in Bollywood.

Munnabhai MBBS (2003)

Is there anyone who’s not a fan of Robin Williams? Well, I guess everybody loves him especially for his great movies and epic performances. The 1998 Robin Williams starrer Patch Adams inspired Rajkumar Hirani to make Munnabhai MBBS. The original film was based on a real story of the doctor who used to treat his patients with the use of humor. The concept was very well adapted by Hirani and hence Munnabhai MBBS makes up to the list of the best remakes of Bollywood.

Manorama Six Feet Under (2007)

More than thirty years later, Roman Polanski’s Chinatown starring Jack Nicholson inspired director Navdeep Singh to make Manorama Six Feet Under which featured Abhay Deol, Gul Panag, and Raima Sen in the main roles.
