There has been a lot of buzz around Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 since the time of its announcement. There were speculations if Akshay Kumar will be a part of the film or not. However, director Anees Bazmee later denied such reports of Akshay doing a cameo in the film.
Now, another big news has come up around the film that stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead. It has been reported that Tabu has joined the cast of the film and will be seen playing a pivotal character. Even her character is being described as one of the USPs of the film.
A report on Mirror quoted a source close to the development as saying, “Tabu has been in talks with the makers for a while now. She loved the script and her role. She is expected to join the cast in January when the second three-month schedule kicks off in London and Rajasthan.”
There is also the buzz that while the first installment Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a psychological thriller, this one would be a totally horror comedy with a lot of spooky moments.
Tabu previously acted in Rohit Shetty’s horror comedy Golmaal Again where played Anna Matthew who could interact with ghosts. Though it is the same genre but Tabu’s character is totally different in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and there is no similarity even between the films.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is set to be the sequel of Bhool Bhualiayaa that came out in 2007 and starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja and Vidya Balan. The film was a big hit and is considered as one the best performances of Vidya Balan.
The second installment will be helmed by Anees Bazmee, unlike the first one which was directed by Priyadarshan.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series and Cine1 Studios. The film is written by Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik and is expected to release on 31 July next year.
