Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao‘s comedy-drama movie titled ‘Newton‘ has got India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 90th Academy award. An actor says that India is having a big opportunity this year at the Oscars.
Rajkummar says that it is a great feeling that his movie will represent India on such an international platform and especially with the movie like ‘Newton’. He says that this year they are having a big opportunity at the Oscars. He along with the makers of the movie are just hoping for the best.
However, he says that the team of the movie ‘Newton’ are already in the Los Angeles also including the director of the movie Amit V Masurkar and the producer Drishyam Films. There are a lot of screenings that are happening there on the daily basis and the whole team is working very hard.
A few days back they just had a screening for American Film Institute. There were a lot of people from the Hollywood who remain present for the screening. He could not go there because of his injury and now he feels that he is missing all the fun which the whole team of the movie is doing over there. However, he says that he is very much sure that the whole team of the movie ‘Newton’ is trying really hard and the makers of the movie have already spent a lot of money for the promotions over there.
An actor whose leg got fractured on the sets of a reality television show titled ‘Lip Sing Battle’ in late October. His injury is much better now and he will soon be joining the crew of the movie ‘Newton’ in Los Angeles because it means a lot to him. Even he thanked the government because he says that the movie got a lot of support from the government.
The movie ‘Newton’ revolves around a young government clerk and he is been sent on election duty to a Maoist-controlled town and there he got to know that how the ideological struggle put him into an awkward situation. The movie raises the question of the importance of the electoral system and they are so proud of it and the movie takes us much beyond from what we have actually seen. The movie has been shot in Chhatisgarh. The movie ‘Newton’ which got released on September 22. The 90th Academy Awards will take place on March 4 in Los Angeles.
