Seems like it’s raining biopics in Bollywood! It was just yesterday (literally!) when actor Taapsee Pannu confirmed doing the biopic of Indian Women’s Cricket team’s ex-captain Mithali Raj. Today, in other news Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment  will be producing a film based on the life of Indian mathematician Vashishtha Narayan Singh.

The announcement was made during a press conference on Tuesday in Patna in a special press conference in the presence of Singh’s family. He worked at NASA and California University and is said to have challenged Einstein’s theory of relativity. The mathematical genius was suffering from schizophrenia for 40 years and passed away at the age of 74 in November this year. He breathed his last at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and in an utter show of callousness, the government hospital denied an ambulance to his family.

While this year saw The Accidental Prime Minister, Manikarnikaa, Super 30, Thackeray, and others, the next year has quite a number of biographical dramas – Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi, Kabir Khan’s ’83, Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, Dharma Productions’ Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil Girl, Shershaah on Captain Vikram Batra, Vicky Kaushal as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and Parineeti Chopra as badminton player Saina Nehwa are some of the highly anticipated biopics.

The film will be directed by Neeraj Pathak who has previously directed films such as Right Yaaa Wrong and Bhaiaji Superhit.
