What did it took to craft the high octane, action sequences in Badlapur and Andhadhun ? We can’t answer this particular question, but the man who crafted them can. Sadly, he is no more. He was action director, Parvez Khan who passed away on Monday at the age of 55. Parvez died because of a cardiac arrest.

A longtime associate of Parvez, Nishant Khan shared the news of his demise, while talking to PTI. The action director was admitted to Ruby Hospital, Mumbai after he complained of a chest pain.

Speaking to PTI, Nishant said :

“He suffered a major heart attack in the morning. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. He didn’t have any health issues but felt chest pain last night.”

As the news of his death reached others, tributes poured in. Notable among them were from director, Hansal Mehta who had worked with Parvez in Shahid (2013). Hansal posted the following tweet for him :

In life, everyone has to start from somewhere, before making it big. Parvez also did the same, he assisted action director, Akbar Bakshi in his early days. He assisted him in films such as Khiladi (1992), Baazigar (1993) and Soldier (1998).

The turning point of his career, came in 2004. He started his independent work with Ram Gopal Varma’s Ab Tak Chhappan. From there, he made a long association with Sriram Raghavan, with whom he first did Johnny Gaddar (2007).

Further, he worked with Sriram on his other films such as Agent Vinod, Badlapur and Sriram’s last film Badlapur (2018).

Parvez was part of the Hindi Film Industry since 1986. He has left his wife, son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter behind.
