This year the sequel of the movies ‘Judwaa 2‘, ‘Golmaal Again‘, and ‘Fukrey Returns‘ has been got to bet for the Bollywood for a while now but when you got to know that the three of the top ten grossing movies of the year were the sequels and with this the genre is only getting stronger with the passage of time.

As the recently released movie ‘Fukrey Returns’ is a sequel to the ‘Fukrey’ and the movie rings in the box office and all set to become one of the latest movie to join the Rs 100 crore club and the genre has almost becomes the synonyms with the safe for the industry and it is here to stay.

Talking about the Rohit Shetty’s  recently released movie ‘Golmaal Again’ which managed to gain Rs 300 crore approximately worldwide and although this is not the very first time when the sequel of the movie has dominated the year. because if we compare 2013 saw five sequels in the top 10 list and which includes the movies like Dhoom 3, Krrish 3, Grand Masti,  Race 2, Aashiqui 2 and yet the manner in which 2017 has been dominated by the handful of the sequels and this has indicated the bigger change.

Besides the movies like ‘Golmaal Again’, ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘Jolly LLB 2’ there were more movies which also made up to the list of top ten and that includes ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’ and even earned a sum of Rs 200 crore. However, the movie ‘Naam Shanana too made the remark at the box office collection, the movie is made on the budget of Rs 15 crore and the movie has earned Rs 56 crore, though that movie is a spin-off that is not a sequel.

Now, the movie ‘Fukrey Again’ has already been labeled as an unstoppable at the box office. Since the movie got to release the movie has crossed Rs 30 crore and mark in just three days and there was no other major movie which released this weekend and the movie is bound to surpass all the expectations.

The nature of the Hindi cinema where the certain genres or the themes such as the lost and found or the slice of the Hindi cinema of the late 1970’s and 1980’s have been said that there are a certain set of rules which are being followed in the bid to come up with the guaranteed hit. As we see that the entire south remake industry that flourished all across the 1980’s and not only that has made mone to the producers but also they have established the careers of many of the actors, writers, writers, lyricists, music director and even the directors.

Actors which have worked in the remakes of the south are Sridevi, Jeetendra, Jaya Pradha, Kadar Khan, Asrani Aruna Irani, Bappi Lahiri and much more and they all were part of the 1980’s their filmography would definitely shrink by a quarter. There is a lack of choices in the terms of the access to the cinema and that from the other parts of India or the abroad that has also helped the advent of this parallel industry and that has ended up by creating a template that was replicated in an assembly line every time because something has ticked.

In the 1995 movie, ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, which got released in the year 1995 that has inspired the narrative in the Bollywood. The very first that the industry has cut into the two halves and that where largely only the two types of the movies which were being made one of them has catered to the NRI audience and one of that could not care for them but not more than the movie DDLJ, which has been inspired a gamut of the movie to follow that the same narrative where the lovers would definitely try to seek the approval of their families.

Talking in today’s time in the Hindi cinema wanted his own versions of the typical action flick. However, this would not have manifested in the manner which they did in the movie ‘Dabangg’ in 2010 and that has been not a monster hit or both Salman Khan and the character that he has played receive that the kind of adulation that they did from the non-film press.

However, an A-list actor wanted their reprise of it -Ajay Devgan (Singham), Shah Rukh Khan (Raaes, Dilwale), Akshay Kumar’s movie Rowdy Rathore, Ranbir Kapoor’s movie Beshram and so on. They are basically keeping the majority of the popular where the Hindi cinema works and that too every single hit whether that is an original story or it is a sequel that has a few characters which are thrown in who could become for the want of a better expression and their own heroes.

The roles which were portrayed by the Deepak Dobriyal and Swara Bhaskar in the movies ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, Somdev (Sahil Vaid) from the movie Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya or even ACP Jai Dixit from the movie Dhoom and each one of them is a probably capable of being the lead character in a movie.

However, the movie ‘Naam Shabana’ is really doing well and the one can also see that the spin-off and it is becoming the next big thing and in fact that the one reviewers even mentioned that if the directors of ‘Fukrey’ and ‘Fukrey Returns’, the director Mrighdeep Lamba were used to think of a third installment that it would be a worth going solo with Choccha, the character which has been portrayed by an actor Varun Sharma.

The sequel to the movie ‘Golmaal Again’ has now on the tent poles and of course that there will be a time where the audience might grow wary or not share the same degree of enthusiasm after the fifth or the sixth time but as if now they are going anywhere.
