After Flipkart’s app ‘Ping’, BookMyShow has also launched its real-time chatting app ‘Plan it’. The company has launched ‘Plan it’ after successful testing of the beta version. ‘Plan it’ is a new in-app messaging feature of BookMyShow, which will be available for its Android and iOS users. This app was a result of continuous requests from the users.
‘Plan it’ is an embedded app which allows its users to interact with their family and friends in real-time to discuss movies, suggests movie shows, venue options while booking a ticket without toggling between other messaging apps.
Plan-it automatically allows users to add friends from their phone books and start chatting. Users can either initiate private one-on-one conversations or create groups (up to 20 people) to start discussions on movies. Similar to other messaging players like Whatsapp, it allows encrypted conversations, multiple conversation threads at a time, let users receive notifications, sees when their friends are typing a message or are online, and know when a message has been read.
Ravdeep, Head of Product, BookMyShow says, “We are confident that Plan-it will result in increased user engagement on our platform while improving and enhancing the overall experience on BookMyShow”.
According to the data released by BookMyShow, the new app has benefited over 1,30,000 movie plans and has more than 70,000 active users till date. Plan-it is now only accessible for movie bookings while it will expand for other events and experiences.
