The two major releases of last Friday, Commando 3 and Hotel Mumbai registered good numbers at the box office over the weekend. According to film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh, Vidyut Jammwal starrer third installment of Commando franchise ended the weekend with a total collection of Rs 18.33 crore. On the other hand, Anupam Kher and Dev Patel starrer Hotel Mumbai which is based on 2008 Mumbai attacks registered Rs 4.81 crore as its total collection of three days at the Indian box office.

After collecting only Rs 1.08 crore on the first day of its release, Hotel Mumbai saw a promising jump in its collection on Saturday and collected Rs 1.70 crore. It maintained the growth and collected Rs 2.03 crore on Sunday. The film’s collections are mainly coming from the big metros. It needs to maintain the grip during the weekdays in order to have a healthy week one. Directed by Anthony Maras and co-written by Maras and John Collee, the film was first released in Australia on 14 March 2019, and in the United States on 22 March 2019.

After witnessing a decent collection of Rs 4.74 crore on its first day, Aditya Datt directorial Commando 3 did not see much growth on its second day and collected Rs 5.64 crore. But the film saw a surprising jump in its collection on Sunday and collected Rs 7.95 crore. The film is performing much better than the previous two installments of the franchise. Monday will be the test for the film to see if it can hold during the weekdays and keep its business growing in the second weekend.
