Akshay Kumar–Kareena Kapoor starrer comedy film Good Newwz has registered decent numbers on its first day. The film, which also features Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles, collected Rs 17.56 crore at the domestic box-office.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter handle to share the business figures of the film. He also shared that the film saw a little dull opening in the morning but gained momentum in the evening shows with multiplex screens performing better.

The film has performed well in Delhi-UP and East Punjab circuit, as per reports by Box Office India. The collection of Good Newwz was hit in parts of UP due to the ongoing CAA-protests. But the damage was not much and it has emerged to have the 11th highest opening day collection for a Hindi film this year. It’s opening day is more than Kumar’s earlier film Housefull 4, which had released pre-Diwali.
The film is expected to witness growth in its collection on Saturday and Sunday in multiplex screens as it has an urban theme revolving around In-Vitro Fertility.
On the other hand, last week’s release, Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3, has seen a dip on its eighth day, grossing only Rs 3 crore net this friday, making a total of Rs 126 crore. Last week’s collections were heavily affected due to the country wide protests.
Good Newwz is directed by debutant Raj Mehta and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan.
