Housefull to inflate its ticket price at the same level of War

Housefull 4, the fourth film of Housefull franchise, has opened to good numbers at the box office. According to a report on Box office India, the film has made good gains and collected over Rs 18 crore on its first day.

The collections are a little lower than earlier estimates as the collections in the North are lower though Mumbai has collected much better, the report said. The opening day collection of the film is almost twice as that of Housefull, the first film of the franchise.

The first film collected Rs 9.32 crore on its opening day in 2011 and now the collections have doubled in 2019 to Rs 18.50 crore.

There was a lot of buzz around Housefull 4 for several reasons. The film has a huge star cast, was releasing on Diwali, and is the fourth installment of one of the most successful franchise in Bollywood.

While Akshay Kumar had already said in an interview that critics’ reviews do not matter for a film like Housefull 4, there was a lot of curiosity if the film would be able to attract the audience and create the same success as previous three films did.

While the film had a good opening day, it remains to be seen if there is enough rise in the numbers post Monday.

The gains each installment have made are in the 20-30% range though in terms of lifetime business Housefull 2 remains the best one as Hosusefull 3 fell a little short of Hosuefull 2 despite a better start.

It remains to be seen where this installment goes and business post Monday will be crucial if the film is to go on and do a big final number.

Housefull 4 stars an ensemble cast which includes Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda in double roles as the story revolves around their reincarnation spanning a period of 600 years.
