Friday’s release, Mardaani 2, has performed considerably well at the box-office despite facing stiff competition with the Hollywood flick Jumanji: The Next Level and the earlier release, the romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh.
According to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, the Rani Mukerji starrer crime drama has witnessed a steady growth, collecting 3.80 crore on its opening day and 6.55 crore on Saturday, making a total of 10.35 crore at the domestic box-office. The figures are much better than Mukerji’s earlier two releases, Mardaani and Hichki.

It has received mostly positive response from the critics, with particular praise for Mukerji’s performance as the tough cop.
The period epic Panipat, on the other hand, has gathered momentum on its second weekend after a dull opening week, minting a net total of 27.63 crore in India with 69 lakhs on Friday and 1.26 crore on Saturday in the second week. It has also performed well in the Mumbai circuit, an indication that the multiplex audiences are also liking it.

The Mudassar Aziz-directed romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh has been storming the box-office in its second week as well, with a collection of 69.42 crore domestically.

The film, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, has been criticised for its depiction of the Afghani villain, Ahmed Shah Abdali.
Meanwhile, the Vidyut Jammwal-starrer action film Commando 3, has also been performing well in its third week of theatrical run, reaching a net domestic collection of 32.20 crore.
