Bradley Cooper calls out award season, calls them as devoid of artistic creation

Do you love Hollywood’s awards season? If you do, then I have some controversial news for you. Hollywood star, Bradley Copper had quite a different and critical take on it. As per the actor, the award season is “meaningless” and does not lead to any “artistic creation”.

In his chat with Hamilton star, Anthony Ramos for Interview Magazine, Bradley Cooper talked with him about the relevance of awards. Bradley is an eight-time Oscar nominee, though hasn’t won the award.

Further, Anthony also shared how he feels that the awards season only single out individual performances while failing to acknowledge the concept of teamwork. Ramos said :

“What we forget is that we’re a representation of the story that those 150 to 200 people told together. We’re like a walking flag,”

Listening to him, Cooper responded by agreeing with him and called award season a “real test”.

Bradley Cooper then went ahead and said,

“It’s set up to foster that mentality. It’s quite a thing to work through, and it’s completely devoid of artistic creation. It’s not why you sacrifice everything to create art, and yet you spend so much time being a part of it if you’re, in quotes, ‘lucky enough to be a part of it. It’s ultimately a great thing because it really does make you face ego, vanity, and insecurity. It’s very interesting and utterly meaningless.”

The actor was last seen in Avengers: Endgame, voicing the character of Rocket. Next up, he has Guillermo Del Toro’s Nightmare Alley and an untitled Paul Thomas Anderson Film.

Anthony Ramos who starred in Disney’s play Hamilton recently also appeared with Bradley Cooper in the latter’s 2018 film, A Star Is Born.
