Over the years, we have been complaining about the lack of suspense-filled storylines when it comes to the films from the horror genre. But does Bulbbul stand out amongst all the films? Yes! It certainly does, a film that is visually appealing and is also packed with a great storyline completely filled with suspense. Challenging performances by the whole cast but what it lacks is a little bit of horror. Yeah, though the film is visually stunning and the plot is filled with mysteries, it lacks a number of horrifying elements to a certain extent.

Let’s come to the story, it revolves around a young bride who marries into a wealthy household of Thakurs, her groom being in his thirties. They young Bulbbul however befriends young Satya and as time passes on, she’s obsessed with Satya now. And at the same time, the horror stories of chudails come to life, the time changes and so are the equations of relationships. In the midst of which a murder takes place, while everyone believes its the chudail who’s behind all the mysterious happenings. And Satya along with Bulbbul takes up the task of unfolding the mystery. So what all will be unveiled?

A ton of surprises ahead of that, beautiful cinematography adds the tone to the story which is equivalent to the performances by the whole cast including Tripti Dimri who plays Bulbul, Avinash Tiwary as Satya and Rahul Bose as Indranil. Written and Directed by Anvita Dutt, this film has its ups and downs but is definitely a new themed story in the Hindi Cinema. The Laila and Majnu reunite definitely works well as per the storyline is considered, Rahul Bose’s energy on screen really does justice to the character. So, Bulbbul is visually stunning and Tripti Dimri shines out in this horror drama.
