When a number of films like Bhool Bhulaiya, Mardaani, Hungama, and others are coming up with their sequels, buzz is also there that a sequel of 2005 release Bunty Aur Babli is in the making. The film starred Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, and Amitabh Bachchan and emerged as one of the highest grossing films of that year. The music of the film received immense popularity especially the item number Kajrare that featured Aishwarya Rai.
Reports on several online portals suggest while Rani Mukerjee will be returning as the female lead, Saif Ali Khan will be replacing Junior Bachchan in Bunty Aur Babli 2. The grapevine has it that the duo will start shooting very soon in Benaras and Bualndshehar. Buzz is also there that Gully Boy fame Sidhant Chaturvedi will also appear in a pivotal role.
Saif and Rani have previously worked in a couple of films like Hum Tum, Ta Ra Rum Pum, and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Hum Tum emerged as a successful film and won Rani best actress award at Filmfare while Saif won a national award in best actor category. They last came teamed up in 2008 for Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic which tanked at the box office.
Meanwhile on the work front, Rani Mukerji is gearing up for her upcoming film Mardaani 2 which is coming on 13 December and is a sequel of her 2014 hit film Mardaani. On the other hand, Saif also has a number of interesting projects lined up that includes Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior with Ajay Devgn and Kajol and Jawaani Jaaneman with Tabu.
