2.0

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar‘s ‘2.0‘ seems to be in trouble just two days before its release. S Shankar‘s directorial has been caught up in a legal issue. The Cellular Operators Association of India or COAI filed a complaint against the filmmakers.

COAI have claimed that filmmakers are promoting “obscurantist and anti-scientific attitudes toward mobile phone, towers and mobile services.”

Akshay Kumar is playing an Ornithologist or a bird expert in the movie, who blames cell phones and mobile towers for causing harmful radiation, which is dangerous for birds and animals.

COAI has send a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, accusing filmmakers of “falsely depicting mobile phones and mobile towers as harmful to living creatures and the environment including birds and human beings.”

In the letter, COAI has requested to cancel the certification of the film. The association has also requested that the “exhibition of the movie be suspended until the determination of the instant complaint.”

‘2.0’ has already been rescheduled several times, finally it was set to release on November 29. It is the most awaited movie and the first Tamil movie to cross 100 crores. It has already created many records. It would be exciting to see the final result of Rajinikanth’s hard work and Akshay Kumar’s patience.
