Our life is uncertain and rather than making it more complex, it would be better if we contribute at least a minimum amount of it to humanity making the world a peaceful place to live. Changing our perspective towards life can have a massive change in society. Humanism is the need of the hour, the film clearly portrays this beautiful and deep message.

Films can be a medium to bring out change on the mass levels. The film Anbe Sivam is one such film spreading out the message of peace and humanity while making a change. The protagonist here is representing our side as the viewers and as the story paces further we witness a change in the life of our protagonist indirectly the change takes place within us as we watch the whole story.

A still from Anbe Sivam

The story follows, Anbarasu (R. Madhavan) and Nallasivam (Kamal Haasan)  both characters are far different from each other when they first meet. As the story paces further, we see the different variations in both the characters considering the flashback story of Nallasivam too. Nallasivam, a man who fights against the wrongdoings of society and he has his own ways. But his life changes after a particular incident which takes him to a different path and also defines him with the real meaning of God.

Anbarasu, a young ad filmmaker who is as impatient as every youth ever. But his story takes the opposite direction when he meets Mr. Nallasivam who makes him aware of the real world. This 2003 Tamil film is among the best regional films I have ever seen. Every character of this film is defined perfectly. Directed by Sundar C, this film is a must-watch.
