No doubt that Andhadhun is among the best thrillers Indian Cinema has produced so far, after watching the trailer and with all the promotions going across before the release of this film, I was super excited to watch Akash’s (Ayushmann Khurrana) story, and not only me actually all of us were really excited for this film and after watching the film we were more than impressed by the story and every performance in it. Especially the character definition in the film and that brings me to Sophie’s character in the film portrayed by Radhika Apte.
While in the whole story, we see how cruel the world can be and how far people can actually go just for the sake of fame, money, etc. But among all these characters, Sophie was the exception, she was the innocent one among the evils. She cares for Akash like no one ever could, she falls in love with him just based on his behavior overlooking his disability.
Sophie is a next-door girl who is completely focused on being good to everyone, lives with her father, and helps him with his business. She is among the people who get deceived by others due to her innocence, in fact at the end of the film, when Akash deceives her and makes her believe his made-up story. And when we actually get to the end of the film, Akash tossing the can with his stick, I actually felt bad for Sophie and her innocence in the whole Andhadhun story. One can fall for Sophie as a person, the innocent one among the evils.
